What to Do When Register and Login Buttons Don’t Work in User Pro Plugin of Food Blog Theme by Pinsupreme
(Last Updated On: September 9, 2018)

Hi everyone, I was working on one of the web projects. It was Cook With Nisha. Food Blog theme is installed on it. But when I got to know that the Register and Login buttons are not working then I found a solution for this. So here I am to show you that simple fix.

What’s the issue?

Before starting, let me tell you about the issue in detail. See the website screenshot below. You can see the top bar. There, you can see two buttons, Login & Register.
When clicked, a modal (pop-up) should open same as in the theme demo here. But it is doing nothing.

I was able to fix this problem. But there is one difference. After I fixed this issue, these two buttons will work but will not open into modals (pop-ups), instead, these buttons will open into its own individual pages.

Now I have explained to you the issue clearly. Let’s start with the solution now.
Note: This solution is specifically figured out for Food Blog theme only.

Solution 1 (Might not work)

  1. Go to Appearance –> Editor

  2. Select Food Blog Theme

Buy me a coffeeBuy me a coffee
  3. After that open Theme Header i.e., header.php

  4. Now, copy the whole header.php content (text) into a notepad file and save it to your computer. We are saving this just for safety.
  5. Then press Ctrl+F and search for popup-login

  6. After that select from <li> to </li>
    <li><a href="#" class="popup-login"><i class="os-icon os-icon-user-male-circle"></i> <span><?php _e('Login', 'food-blog-by-osetin'); ?></span></a></li>
    <li><a href="#" class="popup-register"><i class="os-icon os-icon-user-male-picture-add"></i> <span><?php _e('Register', 'food-blog-by-osetin'); ?></span></a></li>

  7. Then copy the following code:
but make sure you replace cookwithnisha.com with your site.

    <li><a href="http://cookwithnisha.com/profile/login/"> <i class="os-icon os-icon-user-male-circle"></i> <span><?php _e('Login', 'food-blog-by-osetin'); ?></span></a></li>

    <li><a href="http://cookwithnisha.com/profile/register/"> <i class="os-icon os-icon-user-male-picture-add"></i> <span><?php _e('Register', 'food-blog-by-osetin'); ?></span></a></li>
  8.  And paste it in the Theme Header i.e, header.php

  9. Now click on ‘Update File‘.

There are 90% chances that it will not be saved so you’ll have to go to cPanel to update it again.

Solution 2 (will definitely work)

  1. Go to cPanel now. You can access it through your hosting account or if you are new, then you can start live chat with your hosting team and ask them. They will definitely guide you.
  2. Now go to File Manager
  3. Now go to public_html (your main mission is to find your site)
  4. Open your site
  5. Now open the wp-content folder
  6. Now open themes folder
  7. Now, select your theme. Here in my case, it is food-blog-by-osetin

  8. Now select header.php

  9. Click on Edit

  10. Again, click on Edit. After that, a new tab will be opened.

  11. Now, copy the whole header.php content (text) into a notepad file and save it to your computer. We are saving this just for safety.
  12. Then press Ctrl+F and search for popup-login

  15.  And paste it in the Theme Header i.e, header.php

  16. Now click on ‘Save Changes‘.

You can see the top bar links of Login & Register buttons are now working properly without any issue.

I really hope you like this article with very simply copy-paste solution. I know the Login & Register buttons don’t open into modals (pop-ups) but it’s still good. They open into their pages individually. It works also.
